Sensatec is the provider of sophisticated technologies for the remediation of environmental contaminants in soil and groundwater. Our expertise focuses on, aerobic and anaerobic biodegradation, chemical oxidation, reduction technologies (ISCO, ISCR) as well as physical technologies, such as thermal treatment and cosolvent extraction. Sensatec is also known for its specialised experience in the use of process control in-situ sensor technology. Prior to application in the field, all technological approaches are carefully checked by conducting sophisticated feasibility studies in one of our laboratories.
Our microbiology lab cultivates various microbial cultures with proven potential to effectively degrade contaminants. The strains are selected based on the specifications of the contaminated site and are cultivated on a large scale either on site or in our laboratory facilities. Sensatec is the only producer of Dehalococcoides-containing bioaugmentation cultures for reductive dechlorination in Central Europe.
Our biotechnology laboratories perform feasibility studies for environmental restoration projects. These studies are geared towards identifying the most promising technical remediation approach. The studies also provide a prognosis on the consumption of reactants and an analysis of critical side reactions.
Our molecular biology lab quantifies specific genes related to the biodegradation process of concern. The outcome of these analysis answer questions linked to reductive dechlorination more precisely than classical microbiological methods.
Sensatec plans, constructs and operates sensor-based environmental monitoring systems which serve as an effective means of fighting environmental contaminants. Sensors introduced into the groundwater or surface water, in addition to sensors for the process analysis of soil decontamination and waste treatment are offered. Our Sensaguard system is a fully automatized online-biotoxicity sensor for the permanent analysis of domestic water quality.
The choice of a suitable drilling technology is of crucial importance in any remediation project. Fluid injection and extraction installations must also be adapted to the complexity of the aquifer. For this reason, Sensatec offers a large variety of different drilling and injection technologies, such as multilevel-fluid and gas injection systems, pressure and oxidant resistant lances, profiler probes, horizontal and vertical infiltration systems, and the construction and installation of in-situ sensor control systems.
